Clarence Catt, Jr., age 89 of St. Francisville, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Vincennes, IN at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in St. Francisville to John Clarence Catt and his wife Lora (Brooks) Catt on October 12, 1924.
Clarence served in the United States Army Air Corps as a "Tail Gunner". He owned and operated his own oil production company for many years, and he farmed as well. He cherished his adventures and treasures he found as a gold Prospector in Alaska. Clarence had even been featured in an article in the Prospector Magazine. Building airboats was another hobby of his. Over the years he had built quite a few.
Surviving family includes: his daughter- Kathy Hoalt and husband Tom of Flat Rock: one sister- Irene Black of Lawrenceville and formerly of Bridgeport: one brother- Marion Lee Catt of Grant Park, IL: four Grandchildren- Michael Hoalt, Dena Hardesty, Eric Hoalt all of Robinson and Bradley Hoalt of Flat Rock: and nine Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- John Clarence Catt and his wife Lora: four sisters- Mary Green, Marjorie Hoh, Gladys Siegle, and Jane Macer.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville. There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home in St. Francisville. Military rites will be given at the cemetery.
